whitman hanson girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team defeated Hanover 3-1 tonight. Both teams battled to a 0-0 score at halftime. Whitman Hanson erupted for 3 goals in the first ten minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach. Mackenzie Hatfield got the panthers on the board by dribbling three Hanover defenders and slotting the ball into the right corner. Just minute later Hatfield beat two defenders on the right flank and fired a cross that Devon Morse one timed into the net. Cassie Chernicki followed shortly after as she beat her defender and fired a 20yd bullet into the top corner. Alyssa Eaton, Nicole Galewski, Haley Bukow and Lily Higgins kept the Indians at bay all night long. Alicia Varasso from Hanover broke free with 3 minutes remaining to put Hanover on the board. Strong performances were turned in by Hannah Wells, Haley Wells, Kelsey Murray and Yasemine Civan. This win qualified Whitman Hanson for the state tournament.
