The Whitman Hanson girls improved to 13-0-2 overall and finished league play undefeated with their 2-1 victory over Duxbury. Duxbury opened the scoring midway through the first half when Laura Nee found the back of the net. The score remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when Whitman Hanson striker Alexis Fruzzetti beat two Duxbury defenders and fired a shot into the upper left corner knotting the score at 1-1. Kelsey Gilbert and Lily Higgins controlled the midfield for Whitman Hanson and then with 1 minute remaining forward Yasemin Civan turned her defender and fired a shot that the Duxbury keeper could not handle and Casey Corr was there to punch home the rebound and give Whitman Hanson the victory. Alyssa Eaton, Nina Zappi, Hayley Bukow and Nicole Galewski were outstanding defensively and held the potent Duxbury offense at bay for most of the evening.
