whitman hanson girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team improved to 12-0 with a 4-0 shutout over non-league opponent Weymouth. Both teams battled to a 0-0 score at the half. In the second half the Panthers pressured the Weymouth goal and got on the board when Rachel Kelly took a Lauren Bonavita cross and fired it into the back of the net. Bonavita followed 2 mins later with a goal of her own when she took a nifty pass from Lindsay Anderson and snuck it by the Weymouth keeper. Alexis Fruzzetti headed home a deflected Kelly cross and Taylor Kofton finished off the scoring when she took a great feed from Anderson and put the ball in the side netting. The defense of Kat O’kane. Kelsey Gilbert, Madison Shea and Elana Wood was outstanding in front of keeper Skylar Kuzmich (7 saves) helping her earn her ninth shutout on the season.
