whitman hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team improved to 16-0 with a 5-0 win over league rival North Quincy. Whitman Hanson finally broke through the tough North Quincy defense with 12 minutes remaining in the first half when Taylor Robertson took a great through ball from Alexis Fruzzetti and slotted it into the lower left corner. With the 1-0 lead at the half Whitman Hanson came out and immediately pressured the North Quincy net and went up 2-0 when Rachel Kelly collected a great pass from Fruzzetti and volleyed it into the North Quincy net. Robertson grabbed her second goal of the game on a great individual effort and then Fruzzetti (2 assists) collected the final two goals to account for the 5-0 margin. The Whitman Hanson defense of Elana Wood, Maddie Shea, Jill Shangold and Sammi Smith kept North Quincy at bay and helped goalkeeper Mikayla Clemens record the shutout.
