RE: Whitman Hanson Girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team defeated Patriot league rival Duxbury 2-1. Despite numerous Panther opportunities in the first half both teams entered halftime 0-0. The Panthers finally broke through in the second half when an Eve Montgomery shot slipped through the hands of the Duxbury keeper and found the back of the net. WH made it 2-0 when Lauren Bonavita flicked the ball over the Duxbury keeper. With 8 minutes remaining Sam Borgeson fired a 30yd shot in the top of the WH net to make it 2-1. Sammi Smith, Elana Wood, Carly Alexopolous, Katie Korzec and Olivia Reed played outstanding defensive games.
