patriot league girls soccer

 

Whitman Hanson improved to 7-0-1 with a 4-0 shutout over Duxbury. Whitman Hanson took the lead midway through the first half when Lauren Bonavita fired a shot in to the lower corner just passed the outstretched arms of the Duxbury keeper. Despite numerous chances the Panthers had to settle for the 1-0 halftime lead. 20 minutes in to the second half, Samantha Smith was fouled In the box and Bonavita stepped up and put the penalty shot away for a 2-0 Panther lead. Bonavita then finished the hatrick  with a bullet from 25yds out. Samantha Smith, who was incredible all night, put WH up 4-0 after she fired a shot after making a 65 yard run with the ball. The defense of Sam Perkins, Olivia Johnson, Sammy Smith and Elana Wood kept the Duxbury offense in check and helped goalkeeper Skylar Kuzmich earn the save in net. Riley Bina, Katie Korzec, Delaney Hall and Anika Floeck all had strong games.
