whitman hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team beat Marshfield 4-1 in a non-league contest. Senior Samantha Smith opened the scoring when she dribble 3 defenders and fired a left footed shot low in to the corner. Smith doubled the lead when she took a miss cleared ball and fired it into the back of the net. After a great run by Nora Manning saw her get fouled in the box, Smith stepped to the penalty spot and completed the hatrick. Marshfield scored off a miss clear to cut the Panther lead to 3-1. The Panthers answered 30 seconds later when Kelsee Wozniak dribbled a defender and after an initial save by the Marshfield keeper, Wozniak followed the rebound and fired it home for the 4-1 score. Sam Perkins, Erin Wood, Courtney Woodward and Olivia Johnson were outstanding in front of keeper Skylar Kuzmich who picked up the win. Alexis Billings and Riley Bina were outstanding in the midfield.
