Whitmna Hanson Regional girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team defeated Norwell 2-1 in a non-league matchup. Despite a lot of pressure early on Whitman Hanson could not find the back of the net. Norwell opened the scoring 15 minutes before the half before Nora Manning took an Olivia Borgen cross and ran it in the back of the net to tie the score. The Panthers continued to pressure the Norwell goal and with 14 minutes remaining Alexis Billings gathered the ball at the top of the penalty box and fired a shot into the left corner of the net for the game winner. The defense of Sam Perkins, Ava Melia, Erin Wood and Courtney Woodward was solid all night in front of keepers Reese Codero and Kylee Colclough. Abby Carew had a strong game in the midfield for the Panthers. Whitman Hanson is 14-1-1 overall and 11-0-1 in the Patriot League.
