Whitman Hanson opened the MIAA State Tournament with a 6-0 win over Northampton. The Panthers came out flying right from the opening whistle when Madeleine Fitzgerald, Kayla Cassidy, and Lauryn Fostello all found the back of the net in the first five minutes and putting WH up 3-0. Nora Manning (3 assists) added 2 more while Olivia Borgen added another. The defensive play of Emily Leitch, Megan Bizier, Skylar Jordan and Makenna Marshall was outstanding in front of keepers Ava Patete and Ayla Dernier who shared the shutout. Ava Melia and Savannah Kamperides turned in strong performances.
