The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team improved to 7-0 with a 3-1 victory over Hanover. Hanover opened the scoring 20 minutes in to the match, ending Whitman Hanson’s shutout streak at 6, and maintained the lead into the half. The second half belonged to Whitman Hanson as they pressured Hanover and created numerous opportunities. Following a series of corner kicks, Whitman Hanson tied the score when Nicole Galewski fired a low driven shot into the back of the net off a rebound. Whitman Hanson kept pressuring Hanover and got the game winner when Alyssa Eaton dribbled a defender and slotted a ball to a streaking Kelsey Gilbert who one timed the shot in to the top right corner. With ten minutes remaining freshman Lindsay Anderson beat her defender around the right side and fired a shot in to the top left corner to round out the scoring and give Whitman Hanson a 3-1 victory. Haley Bukow, Nina Zappi and Lily Higgins were strong in front of keeper Lauren Clark and helped Whitman Hanson improve to 7-0 on the season.
