whitman hanson girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team improved to 3-0 with a 2-1 victory over league opponent Pembroke. Whitman Hanson carried play in the first half but could not find the back of the net as both teams went in to the half tied 0-0. Ten minutes into the second half, Lily Higgins scored with a left footed blast off a Marina Kelly corner kick. Whitman Hanson continued to apply pressure and doubled their lead when Casey Corr finished off another Marina Kelly corner. With 8 minutes remaining in the game Pembroke scored on a driven shot from 20yds out to account for the 2-1 final. Hayley Bukow, Hayley Wells, Kelsey Gilbert and Melissa Hurlburt all turned in strong performances for the Panthers.
