whitman hanson

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team improved t o2-0 with a league win over Quincy. Despite a large advantage in shots Whitman Hanson found themselves tied 0-0 at the half. The Panthers came out in the second half with a renewed energy and immediately applied pressure on the Quincy goal. The pressure paid off when Rachel Kelly crossed a ball from the right side and Melissa Hurlburt redirected it into the goal. Just a few minutes later Kelsey Gilbert fired a shot past the Quincy keeper from about 20yds out and Lily Higgins finished off the scoring with a low driven ball from the left side. Haley Bukow, Haley Wells, Stephanie Warn and Madison Shea all were strong defensively limiting Quincy to only three shots on net.
