whitman hanson girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team finished the regular season with a 14-1-3 record after defeating Duxbury 2-0 tonight. Taylor Kofton put Whitman Hanson on the board in the first half when she collected an Alexis Fruzzetti cross and tapped it by the Duxbury keeper. The defense of Katie Korzec, Kelsey Gilbert, Katherine O’Kane and Elana Wood kept the Duxbury offense at bay for most of the game. In the second half Kofton rewarded Alexis Fruzzetti with a nice cross that she calmly drove past the keeper to make the score 2-0. Goalkeeper Arianna Comendul made 9 saves on the night, two terrific saves in the final 12 minutes to record her 7th shutout on the season. Casey Corr, Rachel Kelly, Lindsay Anderson and Taylor Kofton  also turned in strong performances in the midfield.
