whitman hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team improved t o5-0 with a 3-0 shutout over league rival Hingham. Both teams battled scoreless for the first 25 minutes until Whitman Hanson’s Lauren Bonavita finished off a Rachel Kelley feed off a counterattack to put the Panthers up 1-0. After halftime Whitman Hanson continued to keep the Hingham offense at bay with the defensive work of Kelsey Gilbert, Katie Korzec, Kat O’Kane and Elana Wood. The Panthers doubled their lead when Bonavita found Kelley at the back post and Bonavita finished things off with her second goal of the game off a 20yd blast that beat the Hingham keeper at the top of the net. Skylar Kuzmich recorded her 4th shutout on the season. Lindsay Anderson, Sammi Smith and Eve Montgomery all had strong games in the midfield.
