whitman hanson girls soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team qualified for the post season and improved to 9-0   with a 4-0 shutout of Silver Lake. Both teams battled back and forth in the first half and the half ended at 0-0. Whitman Hanson came out in the second half and immediately put pressure on the silver lake defense and it finally paid off when Lauren Bonavita (2 goals 1 assist) took a Taylor Robertson pass and finished in the lower corner of the net. 3 minutes later Bonavita took a Rachel Kelly cross and headed it past the Silver Lake keeper. This time Bonavita was on the giving end as she fed a pass to Alexis Fruzzetti and she turned and fired a left footed shot into the corner of the net. Eve Montgomery finished off the scoring with a 35yd blast that found the top of the net. Kelsey Gilbert, Kat O’Kane, Madison Shea and Elana Wood all played outstanding defense in front of keeper Skylar Kuzmich who earned her 7th shutout of the season.
