whitman Hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team improved to 8-0 with a 2-0 shutout of Pembroke. Despite a 16-2 shooting advantage in the first half the Panthers were unable to find the back of the net and both teams went to the half 0-0. Whitman Hanson continued to control play and finally broke through when Taylor Kofton took a Sammi Smith pass and fired it in to the top left corner. Taylor Robertson doubled the lead when she took a great pass from Lauren Bonavita and slid it past the on-rushing Pembroke goalkeeper. The defense of Kelsey Gilbert, Madison Shea, Kat O’Kane and Elana Wood kept the Pembroke offense at bay all nigh holding them to just 4 shots for the game. Skylar Kuzmich picked up her 6th shutout of the season.
