Whitman Hanson advanced to the final 4 in Div 2 MIAA tournament with a 2-1 overtime win over Medfield. The Panthers got on the board when Makenna Marshall headed home an Ava Melia corner. After Medfield tied it with a corner of their own the skies opened up and caused a 40 minute delay. Both teams emerged with scoring opportunities but to overtime they went. With 2 minutes left in the first OT Kayla Cassidy broken in with 4 defenders surrounding her and slotted the ball to the back corner for the game winner. Emily Leitch, Megan Bizier, Makenna Marshall, Savannah Kamperides and Skylar Jordan Were outstanding defensively in front of Ava Patete (13 saves). Keeper Patete was called upon to make many highlight saves.
